This course is designed to enable people with delegated authority to commit, spend and monitor funds to understand their obligations and responsibilities, and to manage those funds effectively and in line with Departmental requirements and processes.

This event is designed for people who manage a budget.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will understand:
- The budget delegation process and the responsibilities incumbent upon recipients of authority to commit, spend and monitor funds;
- How budget management works in an accruals based environment;
- KC1, KC2, and KC3 roles and responsibilities;
- How the Mentor system fits into the budget management process;
- The importance of effective monitoring and accurate forecasting and how to do it;
- Budget Manager's role in the Department budgetary control process;
- Signposting to sources of advice and help.
