Introduction to Financial Management in BIS - Currently being Revised

This course will provide staff with an overview of central Government financial management and how BIS manages its role within it.
Suitable for:
This event is designed for people who are not directly involved in managing finance but are interested in gaining an overview of financial management.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will understand:
- central government financial management process;
- the methodology for bidding for funds: the Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR);
- the structure of financial responsibilities in BIS;
- the principles of resource accounting and budgeting;
- how the Department manages financial control;
- the key elements of Mentor and the role of the Chart of Accounts;
- where to find further help and guidance.
