This course is designed for BIS staff required to select the best person to fill advertised vacancies.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- write a vacancy advertisement;
- conduct a sift of candidates;
- assess candidates against job and person requirements;
- comply with the Department's selection procedure guidelines and timescales;
- demonstrate the importance of equal opportunities and valuing diversity at all stages of the selection process;
- structure a selection interview and demonstrate the skills needed to conduct a selection interview.
